Day trips - Nature and Sports

Nature lovers and sports enthusiasts will not be disappointed in the area around El Refugio. There are many beautiful walks to be made in the Natural Park Sierras de Tejeda, Almijara y Alhama, which can be reached directly from our B&B. There is a beautiful suitable route for every type of walker .... from a round walk to Alcaucín of over an hour to a tough day trip to La Maroma, the highest point (at 2,069m) of the natural park.

There are several challenging routes waiting for cycling enthusiasts and we are happy to help you find a route that suits your level and wishes.

Electric mountain bike

It is also possible to rent an electric mountain bike directly from our Boutique B&B El Refugio through our partner Andaluz E-Bikes.

Whether you enjoy exploring gravel roads, climbing mountains, or descending hills, an e-mountain bike makes riding terrain that would otherwise be too steep or challenging suddenly feasible and even enjoyable. You can enjoy the scenery and natural beauty around you, without excessive physical exertion.

But if you want something less strenuous, a lovely (flat) bike ride along the coast is also possible. In the coastal town of Torre del Mar, there are bicycles (also electric) for rent in various places
