Hier staat een selectie van de vragen die we regelmatig krijgen:

Do you allow pets? No, due to allergies we do not have pets. Therefore it is also not allowed to bring pets to El Refugio. PS. But we often receive visits from mountain goats, many (predatory) birds, numerous beautiful insects and of course our house gecko Pedro!

Can you easily drive to your place with the car? Yes, the road to our village Alcaucín runs smoothly upwards without too many hairpin bends from the coast. After passing Alcaucín, you drive a bit further towards 'El Alcazár'. After 1.5 km turn left onto an unsealed road. Is smoking allowed at your place? Yes, smoking is allowed on the property, but please take into account other guests and use the ashtrays that are available. Smoiking is not allowed in the guest rooms and common areas. 

Do you cook for guests? Yes, we do this regularly, but not standard every evening. We do it on request and in consultation with the guests. Here you will find more information about 'food and drink'. 

How far is El Refugio from Alcaucín? The village - with a few restaurants and bars - is 5 minutes drive from El Refugio. You can also walk there in 25 minutes. The return journey takes a bit longer because you have to climb again. 

What are the check-in and check-out times? Check-in at El Refugio is possible from 16h. Check-out is possible until 11h. Please feel free to inquire about possibilities for an earlier check-in or later check-out due to, for example, an early or late flight. We will however charge a surcharge on top of the room price.  

Do you have problems with mosquitoes or other insects? Despite being located in the 'campo' (the countryside), we are lucky to have relatively few problems with mosquitoes or flies. In addition, all windows of the guest rooms are equipped with screens. We do get some (more) visits from wasps during certain periods. Fortunately, we have learned many tricks to limit the possible nuisance.
